For WordPress

A microphone on your blog,
without a line of code.

Hardly anyone types comments any more. Talking is different. With the Speeeak widget your readers, customers or listeners speak their message right on your WordPress site – set up in five minutes with the plugin, or with a single line of code without it.

Why a voice widget on your WordPress site

Two ways, both easy

With the Speeeak plugin you paste your widget key and place a block. Without the plugin you copy one script line into the “Custom HTML” block. That’s all there is to it.

Fits any theme

The widget runs in its own frame and brings its own look. Colour and style are set in Speeeak – inline, as a floating pill or as a tab on the edge of the screen.

No comment spam

Messages don’t appear publicly under the post. They land in your Speeeak Inbox. You listen, reply by voice and decide what anyone else gets to see.

How to add it

  1. Create a widget and copy the key. In your Speeeak account under “Widgets”, create a new widget: heading, fields, consent text, colour. Then copy the widget key – it sits at the top of the page with a copy button.
  2. Option A, with the plugin: install the Speeeak plugin, go to “Settings → Speeeak”, paste the key and save. In the block editor click “+”, search for “Speeeak Widget” and place the block where you want it. For the classic editor, page builders or sidebar widgets use the shortcode [speeeak_widget], or [speeeak_widget art="knopf"] for a floating button. The plugin settings can also switch the floating button on for every page at once. Option B, without the plugin: add a “Custom HTML” block (block inserter or type /html), click “Edit HTML” and paste the script line from Speeeak. For every page at once, the line goes before </body> in your theme or into a code snippet plugin.
  3. Allow your domain. Back in Speeeak, add your WordPress site’s address under “Allowed websites”. Only then will the widget accept messages there.

Tip: The “Custom HTML” block keeps <script> tags only if you save as an administrator or editor. For users without the “unfiltered_html” capability, WordPress strips the line on save. The plugin avoids the problem – it only needs the key.

Use this template

Texts, fields, colour and display style are prepared – adjust name and colour, copy one line of code into your website, done.

Take the template into my account Step-by-step setup

Free account: 1 widget with Speeeak link. Pro: 5 widgets, Speeeak link can be switched off.

What you do with it

  • Contact without a form: “Describe your request briefly, we’ll get back to you” – on the contact page or floating on every page.
  • Listener mail and reader questions: a microphone under the post or podcast episode instead of a comment box.
  • Testimonials: let customers speak on the thank-you page after purchase or in the members’ area – with a consent text for publishing.
  • Privacy: consent in the widget, your site’s privacy link, delete link for the sender, servers in the EU, data processing agreement in one click.

Frequently asked questions

Do I really need the plugin?

No. The plugin saves you from touching code and switches the floating button on for all pages with one checkbox. The script line in the “Custom HTML” block does the same – just per page or in the theme.

Does it work with page builders?

Yes. Every builder has an element for HTML or shortcodes. Put either [speeeak_widget] or the script line in there. The widget is its own frame and doesn’t clash with the builder’s styles.

What happens to the messages?

They land in your Speeeak Inbox, with an e-mail notification if you like. From there you reply by voice, download the file or, from Plus, read the transcript. Nothing is stored in WordPress.

What does it cost?

The free account includes one widget for one website with Speeeak link and 30 messages per month. Pro (€19/month) has five widgets, transcription and no Speeeak link. All limits are on the pricing page.
